Carved pine, leather ears and saddle, glass eyes, rope mane, paper clay ornaments. Poplar base with pewter wheels. Painted with acrylics.
When we bought our home in Sewickley, PA there was a bit of rope hanging in one of the big trees in the backyard. I kept a piece and it ended up on one of the last pieces I carved, Red Pony Pull Toy.
This one-of-a-kind was inspired by several versions of "stallion" weathervanes with my version being a bit less serious. (Imagine that!)
